Special Delivery: Awesomeness Courtesy Of Peter Kato!

For this edition of Special Delivery, I've decided to share some resin goodness I ordered from Mr. Peter Kato recently. Just in time for the Holidays, these super cool resin mini-figures are works of art that look they came straight from Santa's toyshop. The first figure, Army Jack, is a stylized version of the timeless green plastic Army men. I never thought someone would be ably to put a spin on the classic toy, But Mr.Kato ups the cuteness factor, and shrinks the figure to a microscopic 1"! The hand made header card is also very cool, the minimalist approach really compliments the figure.

Here's a little on the figure straight from Peter's website: "They are the human soldiers in the Earth Defense Force. They aid  "Megas"( Mega's are the descriptions for Giant Robots, Kaiju etc) that are on the side of earth. These good guys are armed with a blowtorch with details to their fuel backpacks. They are the grunts that will see the mission through..and through."

At a mere $5, these little bad boys are a must have for your mini-figure collection, AND they make sweet stocking stuffers!

Next up to bat, Good Guy Jets! At first glance, These tiny resin robots are reminiscent of Gobots, Transformers, or 70's/80's era Japanese Mecha by design. At the same time, they appear to be mini statues made of glass. Sound cool? It should, these inch high warriors are true pieces of art made with a translucent resin tinted blue, and they feature metallic paint accents. Oh, Did I mention that when you turn your Good Guy Jet backwards He turns into a jet?! He doesn't literally transform, but the low tech approach is just as cool in my eyes. Mr. Kato simply sculpted a jet on the backside of the figure, Brilliant! And like Army Jacks, Good Guy Jet comes with a rather spiffy header card.

Mr. Kato even included a cool little sketch of Good Guy Jet, and some sweet pins with my order, Thanks Man!

To get your hands on these figures, and even more from the world of Peter Kato, stop by His  official website today! Tell Em,' Large Marge sent ya' :)

Happy Holidays Kids!

Custom Dell Comics Frankenstein!

Hey Hey Hey, We are back with another custom creation! This time around We look to the world of obscure comic books for influence.I discovered that Dell Comics did a line of superhero style monster comics way back in the day and managed to track down a few issues here and there. My hands down favorite of the books was Frankenstein. Her's a little on the character from Wikipedia:

"Created in 1866 by a reclusive scientist referred to only as "the Doctor" who endowed him with a superior intellect and the strength of fifty men, Frankenstein lay dormant for over a hundred years under the ruins of an abandoned castle near the large modern American metropolis of Metropole City. Upon awakening thanks to a convenient lightning bolt, he dons a lifelike rubber mask to hide the fact that his white-haired and black-browed head has pale green skin (the rest of his tall, muscular body has a normal Caucasian flesh tone) and takes the name "Frank Stone", a pseudonym inspired by a fallen chunk of masonry with the word "FRANK" engraved in it.
Befriending elderly millionaire philanthropist Henry Knickerbocker after rescuing him from a traffic accident (and who, by an amazing coincidence, is the son of a man who had been his long-dead creator's friend and business partner), when the old man dies from a heart attack he leaves his "nephew" Frank his vast fortune, allowing him the financial freedom to devotes his life to being a scarlet-suited superhero."

My Dell Frankenstein is hand-painted on a Creatology vinyl blank. I really like the way he turned out, Hope you do too :)

Special Delivery - Red Army Muscle Men, Micro Cupcake Kaiju, and Jeff Lamm's Greasebat!

We are back! And I've decided to do something a tad different on this fourth edition of Special Delivery, I'm taking on not one, but THREE reviews in one posting!! I think Evil Knievel tried this once and broke something.. important, No matter! We shall begin the reviews today with the super awesome, interchangeable, resin figure from Planet Banimon, Red Army Muscle Men! Here's a bit about Red Army Muscle Men from the mouths of Banimon..

"Each Red Army Muscle Man is 1" tall, has 16 separate parts and is made of super durable, full color injection molded PVC plastic. Includes a bonus Banigoth Warrior head. Unpainted M.U.S.C.L.E. pink/flesh.All parts are completely interchangeable with all Glyos System Series figures."

So there you have it, this is one Hella fun figure that displays great. And with their interchangeable parts, Red Army Muscle Men is a great figure building system that (In My humble opinion) rivals Glyos. My figure can be broken down to eight pieces, or ten if you include the bonus helmet and sword. All pieces are easy to take apart, and reassemble, making figure customizing a breeze.

Another great thing about R.A.M.M figures, the price! at a mere $7 these sweet figures are truly a steal. Get yours, while you still can, by visiting the Planet Banimon store today!

Next up today we take a look at Rampage Toys, Micro Cupcake Kaiju! The Micro Cupcake is a cute little sucker that stands under an inch high, and is cast in blue resin. Peter Kato's cupcake sculpt looks great in the mini-figure format, and would make a perfect addition to your mini-figure collection. The icing on the cupcake (tee hee) is the super cool header card art. This figure is made available exclusively at Tenacious Toys webstore. For only four bucks, how can you lose? Trust Me, You'll love Him :) Also, be sure to check out even more awesomeness from Peter Kato by visiting His official website today!

Last up today, and certainly not least, is Jeff Lamm's Micro-Greasebat! First glances of this toy would lead you to believe that it's a resin figure..Nope! Standing at a mere 2" high, this cool little fella is an articulated vinyl figure! That's right Greasebat fans, with his head swivel action, GB can stare down your other vinyl toys, or pull a full out Linda Blair! Monster 5, and Monster Worship, did a great job sculpting Lamm's famed creature. All the details truly pop in the shiny orange vinyl. And finally, the figure packaging features original header art by Jeff Lamm Himself! Unfortunately, I believe this item is sold out in the Monster Worship store, But I'm sure you can track one down somewhere :) Good hunting, and thanks for stopping by!

OUR DAY AT NEW YORK COMICON 2013'

Well, We survived New York Comicon 2013! I attended the show only one day this year (Friday) so I had to cram as much Con goodness into one day as possible. I was joined that day by my good buddy Marshal 'Plex' Couture, The man behind Donkey Jaw Projects (www.donkeyjawprojects.com), and fellow toymaker, and Resin Syndicate member, Feast Boy (http://www.feast.storenvy.com). There was soooo much too see that day, The Block section (dedicated to Low Brow Art, and indy Toy Makers) was bigger and better than ever! Industry heavy hitters like Frank Kozik, The Super Sucklord, KaNO, Scott Tolleson, Jon Paul Kaiser, Marty 'God Beast' Hansen, and many others were in attendance, along with kick-ass retailers like: Tenacious Toys, Toy Tokyo, O'Nell Design, Suburban Vinyl, MISHKA NYC, My Plastic Heart, Lullubell, and plenty more slingin' vinyl and resin all day long! It a true was also a pleasure to see smaller indy toy guys and gals rubbing elbows with the heavy hitters.
I had the pleasure of speaking with: TRIPLIKID about His amazing Groper toy, which just so happened to be a finalist in the Designer Toy Awards for Best Resin Figure (good luck guys!) The We Make Pretty gang, with their amazing Munny and Dunny customs,  I also chatted it up with Jesse Chagnon, the webmaster of the very awesome blog, Doomkick! If you're a lover of designer toys, and some of the mainstream stuff too, I highly recommend checking them out. I even traded one of My Abyss figures for a couple of his cool, Slime toys! Other key purchases that day would include a sweet figure courtesy of  Feast Boy, A My Plastic Heart exclusive Outlander figure, and a handful of other resin, and mini vinyl figures I bought on my adventure. OOPS! I just realized I left out a few cool folks I met at NYCC, Shout outs to Laura Alich (Gum Goblins), Todd Robertson, Jacob Siegelbaum and Father, The gentlemen from Suburban Vinyl, and Selina Briggs (Jelly Empire). Thanks for being co cool, and taking the time to chat with Us :)

So all in all, NYCC 2013' was a great time. Can't wait for 2014!

Thanks for your continued support!
